Ch Ch Changes...

Oh what a last few days it has been. I feel like my "babies" grew up an entire year overnight. Last week when I went to get Ezra from his nap, I opened the door to find him half way over the side of his crib trying to break out on his own. Then a few days later during his nap time, he starting screaming and crying. I ran to his room and he was laying in bed holding his leg. He told me that it hurt, but I couldn't get him to tell me what had happened. He actually laid on the couch with his foot propped up for about thirty minutes, which is unheard of for him, so I knew it really did. It wasn't until later that we found out what happened when he told Caleb he was trying to scale over his bed and caught his leg between the rails. So Saturday we made the conversion from crib to toddler bed. This week has been a struggle to train him that he can not get out of bed anytime he feels like he doesn't want to go to sleep!

Now for Poppy-she has become mobile-VERY mobile!!! She doesn't want to sit in her Bumbo or her Boppy chair-she wants to be on the move! I used to lay her out on a blanket with several toys and this would entertain her for a while, but NOW she will be 10 feet away in the blink of any eye! SO today we broke out the 'ole play pen. I assumed she would hate it like Ezra did, but I guess now with him running around there is enough commotion to keep her entertained. She thinks it's okay. However now that Ezra doesn't have to be in it, he has found a new liking for it. See below.

We are making adjustments as necessary :) Hey, whatever works.
I also cleared out their closets and have tubs of "baby clothes" that we are packing up to store. There is not one item in Poppy's closet that is for under 9 months :( WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN!!! She was just born!
Well anyways, I think I'll go grab a tissue now and sulk until nap time is over-or until I hear Ezra sneaking around his room ;)

Oh ya and ...

just because I think it's cute and deserves to be posted... :)

Mermaid Boy!

Have you ever had one of those moments when something that might tickle someone just CRACKS YOU UP! Well, Ezra and I had a moment like that this morning. We are currently potty training, and with that come Lots and lots of pants up and pants down. We do this about a million times a day and with Poppy waiting on us, we usually have to make it pretty fast so we can get back to her before she starts crying. THIS TIME we were hurrying and he puts his legs back in his pants and I yanked them up and ran off. He usually is right behind me but he was moving kind of slow. I turned around to see him doing the mermaid shuffle. I looked at him and he looked down at his pants and then at me and we both just died laughing! I have never seen him laugh like this- it was HILARIOUS!

He was a little embarrassed when I made him stand there to take a picture to show daddy. (and you)

(Notice the extra pant leg just hanging there)

But then he was smiling again!

Can I just express how Ecstatic I am that this precious boy has the same humor that I do?
I LOVE THIS KID!!!!

No Day Like a SNOW Day

We had a really great weekend! Caleb was off Friday because of the snow so we had three days to just be at home and relax-it was so nice! We watched it snow and snow like crazy! The icicles outside our windows just kept growing and they got HUGE! This is just a picture from the first day!

We just mostly sat around on Friday. Here is Poppy doing what she does best...

Saturday morning I made a big blueberry pancake breakfast! It was delicious!

This is my plate and Ezra's plate---He ate the whole thing! Thanks mom and dad for the real maple syrup-YUM!

That afternoon when Poppy went down for her nap, we got bundled up and took Ezra outside (with a baby monitor of course :) ) for his first time EVER to play in the snow.

He LOVED it!

He totally looks like the Christmas Story kid here when he shoots his glasses off with the Red Ryder BB gun.

We tried to make a snowman, but I just couldn't get the darn stuff to pack!

so daddy stepped in...

We had a lot of fun until Ezra started to get wet. He just wanted to LAY in the snow more than anything.
At one point he took a bite of it and then told me he needed a napkin. haha! That's SO Ezra!

We were really enjoying ourselves the first few days, but then...

CABIN FEVER STARTED TO SET IN!

It was just more than he could take.

Poor Caleb :(

Well you will be happy to know that we got to get out on Sunday afternoon and he is doing MUCH better now :)
